What Will I Learn on This Course?

This course covers comprehensive training on working safely at height through a blend of theoretical and practical instruction. Participants will learn to:

  • Use ladders safely
  • Ascend and descend safely from heights
  • Choose and wear appropriate PPE
  • Conduct PPE pre-use checks
  • Use lanyards, fall arrest, and fall restraint equipment

Additionally, participants will explore key theoretical aspects of height safety, including:

  • Core principles of health, safety, and environmental legislation
  • Approved codes of practice
  • Proper inspection, storage, and maintenance of fall arrest, work positioning, and restraint equipment
  • Identification and assessment of height-related hazards and risks
  • Methods to mitigate hazards using a hierarchy of controls
  • An understanding of emergency rescue procedures
