What Will I Learn on This Course?
This course covers comprehensive training on working safely at height through a blend of theoretical and practical instruction. Participants will learn to:
- Use ladders safely
- Ascend and descend safely from heights
- Choose and wear appropriate PPE
- Conduct PPE pre-use checks
- Use lanyards, fall arrest, and fall restraint equipment
Additionally, participants will explore key theoretical aspects of height safety, including:
- Core principles of health, safety, and environmental legislation
- Approved codes of practice
- Proper inspection, storage, and maintenance of fall arrest, work positioning, and restraint equipment
- Identification and assessment of height-related hazards and risks
- Methods to mitigate hazards using a hierarchy of controls
- An understanding of emergency rescue procedures
