Description
Donut Offshore Evacuation Training – Norwich, Norfolk
Our Donut Personal Descent Device (PDD) practical training delivered at our Norwich, Norfolk training centre focuses on real-world, hands-on use to ensure workers can operate the system safely, confidently, and correctly in an emergency.
This course is designed to meet offshore operator requirements and is widely recognised across the UK North Sea and Southern North Sea (SNS) sector.
Donut Course Content
The Donut training programme includes both theoretical instruction and hands-on practical assessment:
- Unpacking and inspecting the Donut system
- Affixing the device to a suitable and approved anchor point
- Correct donning and set-up of the system
- Controlled suspension from the device
- Safe lowering and release from the system
- Use of the Donut PDD in a range of realistic scenarios
Actual use of the Donut system is essential to ensure the effectiveness of training. There is no substitute for supervised, controlled descents, which build confidence and competence in the correct operation of the equipment.
This hands-on approach ensures that personnel are fully prepared to use the system safely should the need arise in a real emergency situation.
